United Board of Education Approves Life Safety Amendment to Upgrade Junior High Security Entrance

Share

The United Board of Education has approved a life safety amendment, which will be utilized for projects to complete within the district, explains Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt:

“There is a new round of school maintenance grants coming out. Every time that comes out, it is an easy $50,000 and we try to zero in on a project from our list that we would like to get completed. At this point we have chosen the upgrade to the security entrance at the United Junior High School. We passed a life safety amendment allowing us to use life safety funds for that project. In the next step, we approved the application for the school maintenance grant for that project.”

The estimated total of upgrading the security entrance at United Junior High is $160,000.
