3 Sandburg Men’s Soccer Players Named to All-Region IV Team

Three key members of the Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team were named to the All-Region IV Division II Team for their play this season.

Sophomore forward Jean Forestal, sophomore midfielder Santiago Palacio and freshman defender Felipe Augusto Da Silva were selected to the team after helping the Chargers qualify for the Region IV tournament.

Forestal was named all-region for the second year in a row after leading the Chargers with 13 goals this season, which was also good for 22nd in NJCAA Division II. He had six games with two or more goals, including a hat trick in the Chargers’ 4-3 win over No. 10 Prairie State on Oct. 1.

Palacio tied for second on the team with four assists this season. He had a two-assist game in Sandburg’s Oct. 19 victory at Kankakee.

Da Silva was voted to the all-region team by coaches after leading a Chargers back line that surrendered one or zero goals in six of 13 games this season.
