Strom Center’s Director Carol McCrery Reminds Medicare D Enrollers of $505 Deductible

Share

With the Medicare Open Enrollment period now closed, Strom Center Executive Director Carol McCrery reminds those that have either re-enrolled in their Medicare Part D or enrolled in a new plan, there is a $505 deductible for brand name medications:

“Just a heads up for people that are signed up for Medicare D plans; either they have rolled their plan over or people that are enrolled in a new plan, please remember there is a $505 deductible to meet if you get brand names. For the 90% of the medications that are generic, you do not have to meet that deductible. It is mostly for brand names that you have to meet a $505 deductible.”

McCrery also reminds those enrolled in Medicare D plans to keep the printouts provided by Strom Center staff as a guide.
