The Monmouth-Roseville boys basketball team’s season ended last night at the class 2A Rockridge regional semifinals at Rockridge High School. The Titans would do battle with the host Rockets for the third time this season, after a pair of matchups in the regular season. Rockridge won both of those games 57-35 at home on January 10th, and 44-36 at MRHS on January 31st, and they would take this game by the tight score of 45-37 , knocking Monmouth-Roseville out of the playoffs.
The Titans would have a good start to the game and battled all the way throughout, leading 11-6 at the end of the first quarter, and 16-15 at the end of the first half. Going into the final 8 minutes of play the Rockridge Rockets would lead just 31-29. The pivotal final quarter would see Rockridge open up a 9 point lead with just 4 minutes to go, and they would hold to that lead for much of the quarter, ultimately winning 45-37.
In the statbook for the Titans, C.J Johnson led the scoring with 19 points, while Jerome Jackson added 7. The Titans finish the season with an overall record of 15-17, and will graduate 8 seniors from the program. For the full replay of the WMOI broadcast, click HERE
