Mrs. Deborah E. “Dee” Klamp, 73, passed away at 7:25 pm Thursday, March 23, 2023, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Dee was born July 27, 1949 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Kenneth and Dayle (Phillips) McMenimen. She married James Kern in 1984.

Dee is survived by her husband, Jim of Galesburg; her children, Kenny McMenimen of Denver, Colorado and Adam Kern of Galesburg; her siblings, Marlene (Ed) Roach of Farmington, Minnesota, Dennis McMenimen of Germantown Hills, Illinois, Mary (Mike) Morris of Pekin, Illinois; three grandchildren, Taylor Porter, Sheamus and Declan McMenimen; her sister-in-law, Marilyn McMenimen and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Greg “Butch” McMenimen and her sister Kim Kramer.

Dee graduated from Costa Catholic High School in 1967 and earned her nursing degree in 1984 from Carl Sandburg College. She worked as a registered nurse at Galesburg Cottage Hospital for over 20 years retiring as a nursing supervisor. Dee enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, March 31, 2023 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services. Cremation will follow services and burial will be held at a later date in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
