Local Farmer Ron Moore Says More Moisture Needed Ahead of Spring Planting

Share

Coming out of an open winter season and the recent rains in the area, local farmer and past American Soybean Association President Ron Moore says the fields remain short on moisture:

“We are still short of moisture. None of our tiles have started running yet, which as much rain as we have had instead of snow, I would have thought the tiles would be starting to run and flow right now, but there is water in the creeks and the streams. Right now we have adequate moisture. Top soil is very dry right now, so we could use some more rain.”

Moore was recently named a 2023 Prairie Farmer Master Farmer.
