M-R Junior Varsity Baseball Win First Game of Season Behind Max Ferguson Shutout

Max Ferguson threw a shutout to lead Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans past Bushnell-Prarie City Spartans JV 11-0 on Monday in the first Game of the season for the Titans!

Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the third inning. Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans big bats were led by Andrew Way, Nick Huston, Landyn Angelo, Clay Casteel, and Ferguson, who all drove in runs.

Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans notched seven runs in the third inning. Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans’s offense in the inning came from walks by Way, Huston, and Ferguson, a groundout by Angelo, and an error on a ball put in play by Casteel.

One bright spot for Bushnell-Prarie City Spartans JV was a single by Talon Love in the fifth inning.

Ferguson got the start for Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans. The righthander surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out 12.

Zander Jones led things off on the hill for Bushnell-Prarie City Spartans JV. The bulldog allowed four hits and seven runs over two and a third innings, striking out three. Connor Palm and Connor Upton entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Casteel, Dante Mettler, Way, Junior Avendaño, Huston, and Angelo each collected one hit to lead Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans. Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans didn’t commit a single error in the field. Way had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team. Mettler led Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.

Love led Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans JV with one hit in two at bats.
