Protect Your Computer Against New Microsoft Outlook Vulnerability

Share

If you utilize Microsoft Outlook for your email user on a Windows laptop or desktop computer, a recent vulnerability has been discovered where received emails can gain access to your username and password. Local Information Technology Admin Michael Spainhour explains how the vulnerability can be corrected:

“There is a new Microsoft Outlook vulnerability for Windows computers where as soon as you receive an email, it takes your username and password. There is no way to prevent this other tahn updating your computer. You would open Outlook, go to File, Account at the bottom, and then Update will be right there, Update Settings. If you access your email any other way, you are fine.”

If you are in need of assistance in seeing if your Microsoft Outlook is up to date and protected against this vulnerability, Spainhour advises contacting your local computer shop.
