The Monmouth-Roseville varsity girls soccer team was back at home on Wednesday evening. The Titans welcomed the 2-3 DePue/Hall CO-OP to Pattee Field for a non-conference match. M-R was able to continue their fast start to the season with a dominant 7-0 win over DePue/Hall, improving their overall record to 4-2-2. Monmouth-Roseville got a big lift from their defense, which held DePue/Hall to no goals on just 6 shots on goal. On the offensive side, the Titans were led by senior Yoselim Hernandez. Hernandez scored 4 times in the 5th, 14th, 22nd, and 50th minute to put the game in the Titans control. Other scorers for the Titans on the night included Brenda Raygoza, Elise Blaesing, and Kaylee Ibarra.
The Monmouth-Roseville varsity girls soccer team played in their second game of a back to back homestand at Pattee Field in Monmouth. The Titans welcomed in the Silver Streaks of Galesburg for a non-conference match up. After holding a 2-1 lead in the first half of play, M-R would drop the match 5-2, to bring their record to 4-3-2 overall. The Titans’ two goals came from Yoselim Hernandez in the 20th minute, and Mireyli Garcia-Aguilera in the 26th minute. Galesburg’s scoring was led by a big performance from Madalyn Lardi. She had a hat trick of goals coming in the 21st, 43rd, and 47th minutes. 2 more goals from Angelina Swan (61’) and Samantha Swan (74’) would bring the game to its final 5-2 score, and give Galesburg their 5th win of the season.
Monmouth-Roseville now heads for a long stretch of road games in the next week of April, with games at Princeton on the 14th, IVC on the 17th, LaSalle-Peru on the 18th, and Macomb on the 20th.
