Steven Michael Bainter, 54, of Galesburg, died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab in Galesburg.

He was born January 16, 1969 in Galesburg, the son of John and Susan (Hutchings) Bainter. Steven was reared and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1987.

Steven is survived by his father, John (Sharon) Bainter of Galesburg; his mother, Susan Bramlett of Galesburg; and two sons, Cody and Marcus Bainter, both of Galesburg. Also surviving are four brothers: John (Denise) Bainter of Galesburg, Robert Bainter of Chicago, Illinois, Brad (Cindy) Bainter of Galesburg, and Brian Bainter of Apache Junction, Arizona; two sisters, Danielle Bramlett of Galesburg, and Amanda (Chase) Williams of San Tan Valley, Arizona; and his beloved cat, Missy. He was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Bainter; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He loved spending time with family and friends. Steven enjoyed cars, watches, and being outdoors. He will be remembered as a loving and kind-hearted son, father, brother, and friend.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials may be made to the family. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
