Tickets for the Warren County History Museum’s 4th Annual Great Nicola Magic Festival are on sale now. New additions include food and drink vendors, bounce houses, Mario The Maker Magician, a Magician Passport, and tons of magic. Events and Rental Manager Alyssa Whitacre shares the history behind the annual celebration:

“He was born in Burlington, Iowa but he was raised in Monmouth. His father was a magician and a photographer, so he worked for his father’s photography business and then happened to get into magic and he toured the world. Everyone knows who Houdini was. Houdini and Nicola were competitors, direct competitors. Houdini was America’s magician. Nicola was the world’s magician and he always came right back to his hometown, Monmouth, Illinois and he would mentioned the town of Monmouth in all of his shows across the world. We want to celebrate him and continue to share his history and what he did for the magic community.”

The Great Nicola Magic Festival After Dark will be held Friday, September 29th at Meks on Main followed by Family Day at the Museum Saturday, September 30th. Tickets will be available at the Warren County History Museum, the Monmouth Chamber office, The Great Nicola Magic Festival Facebook page, or online at http://wchistorymuseum.com.
