Story by Prairie Communications intern Kadin Rogers

A local high school basketball prep team has gotten back in action as the summer calendar continues to come closer. The Archangels 17u team competed in games over the weekend in Bettendorf, Iowa, advancing all the way to the championship match before falling in a hard fought game against a team featuring many of the best players in the Quad Cities area. The Archangels are led by Coach Ethan Sikorski, who also serves as a Junior Varsity coach for the Monmouth-Rosevill Titans basketball and baseball programs. Appearing on the WRAM Morning Show on Tuesday morning, Coach Sikorski talked about what the Archangels program is, and how it got its start around 4 years ago.

Sikorski also added that the 17u Archangels will be back in action throughout the month of July, with big tournament events in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Wichita, Kansas. He also serves as the head of the Monmouth Summer Park Program, as well. For the full interview with Coach Sikorski, visit the Sports Podcast section.
