Scott J. Meier, 62, of Roseville, IL, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 7, 1960 in Davenport, IA, the son of Robert and Rosemary (Tray) Meier. He was raised and educated in Davenport and graduated from Central High School in 1978.

He met the love of his life, Teresa Griffin, on December 1, 2000 and she survives.

Those left to cherish his memory is his babycakes, Teresa; children, Christopher (Jennifer) Meier of Washington, IL, Eric (Shannon) Meier of Byron, IL, Kelly (Jacob) Dodd of Roseville, IL, Tommy (Lindsey) Griffin of Hickory, MS. He was the proud papa of Paige “Paigey”, Jayda “Angel”, Madyson “Maddy”, Brody “Skippy”, Ella and Lindley. Siblings, Patricia Roelandt, Donna (David) Maurek, sister-in-law, Linda Meier and his emotional support dog, Amigo. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Allen Meier, Robert “Sandy” Meier, brother-in-law, Larry Roelandt, sister-in-law Shirley Meier, nephews Brad Roelandt and Jeff Meier.

He was a long-time truck driver for many years and later the proud owner of Crossroads Bar & Grill where he made lots of friends and memories. He was proud to say that he had accomplished everything he ever wanted in life. Those who know him well know he loved to tinker and he was able to fix anything. He loved to have “teachable moments” where he was able to pass on his knowledge. Everyone dreaded holding a flashlight for him.

Scott was a larger than life personality with a huge heart and an appetite for Ganzo’s Mexican Restaurant in Davenport. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and his daughters/son in-law. He treated everyone he met like family. He loved to laugh and tell stories, he always said “Life’s just a walk through the park” and “Ain’t no mountain for a mountain climber.” He was a firm believer that if you couldn’t find it at #Walmart, you didn’t need it. He will definitely be missed on Christmas Eve during the big family get together. His faith in God has guided him in all aspects of his life.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family and left in the care of the funeral home. A Celebration of Scott’s life will be held at a later date. Moore Memorial Home-Roseville is handling the arrangements.
