Robert Mings, 69, of Roseville, IL, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, in his home. He was born March 26, 1954 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Richard W. and Mary Bernadine (Porter) Mings. He was raised and educated in Roseville graduating from Roseville High School in 1972. He later graduated from Bailey Technical School in St. Louis and played basketball at Spoon River College in Canton, IL. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Agricultural Mechanization.

He married Mary Simpson on August 18, 1979 and she survives. 

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Mings; children Lissa (Tanner) Schreck of Roseville, Lane (Hillary) Mings of Knoxville, IL; grandchildren, Brinley and Aviella Mings, Mattie and Bekkam Schreck.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob was an avid tractor puller, winning several trophies in his younger years. He was a member of the FFA during high school. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and sprint car racing. He established Mings Ag and owned and operated it for 22 years. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Moore Memorial Home-Roseville. Interment will be in the Roseville Township Cemetery at a later date. Please join the family for a time of food and fellowship at the Roseville American Legion following the services. Memorials may be made to the Monmouth-Roseville FFA. Moore Memorial Homes, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
