Jo Anne Perry,84, of Alexis Illinois passed away at 9:13 am, Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL.
Jo Anne was born September 11, 1938 in Bushnell, IL the daughter of Porter Wayne and Mildred Juanita (Brookhart) Wilson. She was raised and educated in Bushnell, IL, graduating from Bushnell High School in 1956.
Jo Anne married Larry Perry in Bushnell on November 8, 1958 and he died May 11, 1997.
She was homemaker and a caregiver for many people in the Galesburg area. She was very community minded and enjoyed volunteering as an EMT with the Alexis/North Henderson Ambulance whenever needed.
Jo Anne was active at the Village Baptist Church of Alexis and the North Henderson Floral Club. She loved to read, crocheting, being outdoors and keeping busy quilting.
She is survived by her son, Lyle (Robin) Perry of Branson, MO; one daughter, Joyce (Dayle) Learned of North Henderson, Il; three grandchildren, Zachary Perry, Dylan Perry, and Christie Learned; one sister, Evelyn Wilson; four brothers, Bert (Sue) Wilson of Canton, Il, Boyd (Sandra) Wilson of Normal, Il, Jerry (Ruth) Wilson of Bushnell, Il, and Dan (Melinda) Wilson of Cuba, IL, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, July 15, 2023 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. A private family interment will take place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, North Henderson, IL. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00-2:00 pm, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the North Henderson Floral Hall or the Alexis/North Henderson Ambulance service and sent to the funeral home.
