Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Carson, 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
Susan was born February 25, 1955, in Galesburg, the daughter of Maynard and Anastasia (Joseph) Ellison. She married Jack Carson on October 1, 1993.
Surviving is her husband of 32 years, Jack of Galesburg; her daughter, Jennifer Hall of Galesburg; her step children, Tye (Dawn) Carson of Nashville, Tennessee, Molly (Tony) Buckley of Kirkwood, Illinois and Jack (Haydee) Carson of Charles Town, West Virginia; her brother, Tim (Martie) Ellison of Galesburg; seven grandchildren, Taryn Hall, Adrieanna LaViolette, Alena Buckley, Rachel Buckley, Olivia and Gabrielle Carson, Mylah and Madilynn Carson; and her great grandson, Azaiah LaViolette; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. . She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Jane Allen, Cheryl Maner and Mary Ellison and her brother Maynard Ellison.
Susan graduated from Galesburg High School in 1973. She worked for Gale Products and later for Hi-Lo Grocery Store as a bookkeeper for twelve years. Susan was known as a hard worker but also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jack and their friends. She was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan and a Green Bay Packers fan.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, August 15, 2025, at St. Joseph Cemetery with Rev. Jeffrey Stirniman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
