Joyce E. Dahl Kiefer, 78, passed away July 5, 2023 in Galesburg surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born and raised in Alexis, IL to Charles A. Dahl and Betty (Morrell) Dahl on June 1, 1945. She worked several jobs in her life. She often talked about working for her brother, Richard (Dick) Dahl at Dahl Realty in Alexis. Joyce retired working at Silas Willard School in Galesburg as a cook. She loved the kids and always made them laugh and feel loved.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Dahl and Betty (Morrell) Dahl, her brothers, Edwin Dahl, David Dahl and Richard Dahl, and her grandson, Lucas Skillman.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 36 years, Kenneth Kiefer of Galesburg, her daughters, Tammy Emery of Knoxville and Kimberly (Jesse) Arnold of Oneida; and stepdaughter, Dawn Kiefer Graham of Pine Hurst, NC, her grandchildren, Nicole (Nate) Livermore of Macomb, Shannon (Zac) Sharp of Knoxville, Hannah (Chance) Rickard of Oak Run, Jeremy Skillman of East Galesburg, Joshua (Taylor) Skillman of Galesburg, Jay (Ashley) Arnold of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Craig (Sarah) Arnold of Oregon, IL and Jacob (Jess) Arnold of Galesburg; she had two step-grandchildren, Ambrie Graham and RaeAnna Graham of North Carolina, Joyce had 15 great-grandchildren, her brother, Jerry (Joyce) Dahl of Galesburg and sister, Debbie Dahl of East Galesburg and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Joyce will be missed and live in our hearts forever. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from Noon – 2:00 PM at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Hall, 126 South Public Square, Knoxville. There will be no funeral services. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory have been entrusted with the arrangements.
