Little Texas Bringing Big Time 30th Anniversary Tour to Bishop Hill Saturday, July 8th

In the early 1990s, Little Texas burst into the country music industry. Now in 2023, the band is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their breakthrough certified double-platinum sophomore album ‘Big Time’ that produced three consecutive number one singles, “What Might Have Been,” “God Blessed Texas,” and “My Love.” Currently out on their Big Time 30th Anniversary Tour, Little Texas Lead Vocalist and Guitarist Porter Howell shares how the band got their start:

“In a nutshell, it was six like-minded young guys that had moved to Nashville for one reason for another to basically try and make a living in the music business. Two places kind of brought us together; one was Belmont University and the other way Opryland. It was a great way to audition, you got a great summer gig, you got to make a living and then still try to do things, like write songs and meet other people. In around 1987 we met and by 1991 we had our first record out. We came in pairs. Two of us are from Longview, Texas. I have known Duane Propes, the Bass player, since high school. Then Brady Seals and Del Gray met in Ohio and played for artists when they were still in high school, and Duane O’Brien and Tim Rushlow knew each other from working at Six Flags in Dallas. So, we kind of came two by two.”

Little Texas will be performing as part of the Concerts in the Colony in Bishop Hill, with special guests The Peterson Farm Brothers, this Saturday, July 8th. The free family concert begins at 2 pm at the Village Park.
