Margarita Meza, 21, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 4:46 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Viola, IL. 

She was born on January 15, 2002 in Rushville, IL, the daughter of Rogelio Meza Barroso and Laura Mendez Viveros.  Margarita was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth-Roseville High School in 2020.  She later graduated from Carl Sandburg College in 2022.

Margarita was currently serving her country in the Army National Guard.   

Margarita was currently working at Axline Pharmacy in Monmouth.  She loved playing soccer and always enjoyed a good meal.  Most of all, Margarita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

Surviving Margarita are her parents, Rogelio Meza Barroso and Laura Mendez Viveros of Monmouth, IL; two brothers, Steven Meza and Rogelio Meza both of Monmouth, IL; two aunts, Tomasa Martinez Mendez, Sonia Sanchez; two uncles, Rodrigo Martinez Mtz, Rigoberto Mendez Viveros; her cousins, Anthony Mendez, Alexander Mendez, Victoria Mendez, Mia Pilgrim, Brendon Pilgrim, and Jonathan Martinez. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be prior to the Mass at the church from 5:00-6:00 p.m.  Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Monmouth, IL.  Memorials can be made to the Margarita Meza Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
