Mary E. McGuire, 83, of Galesburg, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Mary was born on November 7, 1939 in Marietta, Ohio. She was the daughter of James and Georgia (Andrews) Treadway. She married Dale McGuire on October 24, 1985 in Galesburg. They celebrated 29 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on January 12, 2015. Surviving Mary are her daughters, Bonnie Simpson, Roberta (Steven) Kemp and Eileen Fitchpatrick, all of Galesburg; step-daughters, Rita (Jack) Hopping and Connie Henson, both of Galesburg, Cheryl (Jeremy) Lough and Mary (Troy) Weingart; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sister, Ruth A. (Tom) Tate of Big Sandy, TN and several nieces and nephews scattered across the U.S. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; daughter, Julie Ann Boughton; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and six siblings.

Mary attended Galesburg schools. She was a homemaker and in her younger years, Mary was a carhop at Steak-N-Shake. She was one of eight children. Mary enjoyed reading and watching westerns. Most of all, she enjoyed going on Sunday drives and letting the driver get lost. Most importantly, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family.
