Mrs. Wanda Irene Krans, age 78, of Abingdon, passed away peacefully in her home while surrounded by her family on Saturday July 8, 2023 at 8:23 AM.
Wanda was born to Roy L. and Sedelia “Betty” Geraldine (Curtis) Strickland on May 26, 1945 in Galesburg Illinois. Wanda married Robert L. Krans on July 6, 1945, and spent several long and love filled years together. He proceeds Wanda in death.
Wanda is survived by her children Betty (Kevin) L. Peck, and Tammy (Ron) J. Freeman; her siblings Johnny L. Strickland, Jack L. Strickland, Jay L. Strickland, and Linda L. Bent; her grandchildren William (Autumn) Coutler, Roy (Jessica) Coutler, Cassie (Brad) Mills, and Sean Harper; and her great-grandchildren Grace Coutler, Olivia Coutler, Serenity Coutler, Ryder Coutler, Brayden Coutler, Kami Coutler, Nova Coutler, Keria Mills, Bradley Owen Mills, Skyyler Harper, and Bentlee Harper. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her son Billy Joe, her brother Donald Kilpatrick, a great-granddaughter Carmen Mills, and an ex-husband Walter Allen.
Wanda was best known for her love of bingo, and would play with her closest friends every Saturday. Wanda also enjoyed puzzles and playing various games at the casino. Wanda was more so a caretaker at heart. She had worked as an in-home care giver for several years, as well as caring and providing for her family who she loved dearly.
Cremation has been accorded, a private graveside service will be held. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
