The Monmouth-Roseville Board of Education further discussed the possibility of the addition of solar energy within the district at the latest monthly meeting. While still collecting data and information from surrounding districts that utilize solar, Superintendent Ed Fletcher informs there is no time frame as to when or if Monmouth-Roseville will move to solar energy:
“It is obvious that there are savings to be had with solar. I think that building the array is the scary part that we just don’t have enough firm knowledge because it is uncharted. It is just so brand new, so we are slowing it down a little bit and I don’t have a time frame to be honest with you.”
During a public hearing, Superintendent Fletcher reports the Monmouth-Roseville Board of Education did set a cap of $4.5 million of General Obligation Bonds for the purpose on the possibility of installing solar arrays in the future.
