Macomb Man Charged with Criminal Sexual Assault, Unlawful Restraint, Aggravated Domestic Battery

On 9/14/23 at 12:34 p.m. Macomb Police Officers were called to the area of N. Prairie Ave. in reference a domestic complaint. Macomb Police Officers interviewed the victim and determined she had been a victim of several domestic batteries over a period of days. It was alleged the victim had been restrained within her home for an extended period of time had been battered by her boyfriend, causing several injuries throughout her body. It was believed the events occurred within the presence of five juvenile children residing at the residence.

Upon an investigation into the matter, the suspect was identified as David B. Bennet (28, Macomb, IL). Bennett was subsequently arrested and charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Unlawful Restraint and Endangering the Life of a Child. Bennett was lodged at the McDonough County Jail.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
