Sandburg Volleyball Extends Conference Winning Streak With Sweep at Illinois Valley

GALESBURG — The Carl Sandburg College volleyball team went on the road and earned a 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 sweep at Illinois Valley in an Arrowhead Conference match Tuesday night.

With the victory, the Chargers (13-6, 4-0) have now won 15 straight conference contests.

Freshmen Ayla Cannon and Natalie Burden led the Sandburg attack. Burden totaled 10 kills on a .304 hitting percentage, and she added 12 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Cannon had nine kills on a .333 hitting percentage in addition to a pair of solo blocks.

Setter Grace Vyhnanek had 24 of the Chargers’ 31 assists on the evening, and libero Madeline Mooney led Sandburg with 19 digs. Mooney also served an ace in the victory.
