No Agriculture, No Beer; A Look Into Agriculture’s Role In Beer

Share

American beer has a long history stretching back to the days before the United States was settled. At the core of the success brewers across the country have found over the years ties back to agriculture. Adam Vitale, President of G&M Distributors points out that without agriculture, we wouldn’t have beer.

There are 52,00 agricultural jobs in the United States that depend on the American Beer Industry. This is anything from barley growers, hop growers, rice growers, and of course corn farmers,” said Vitale. “At G&M we are really really proud to represent Anheuser-Busch and we are proud to represent the number one beer in the area which is Bush Light, and corn is a critical component to that beer. Bush Light is brewed with corn and Anheuser-Busch is actually the largest brewer-corn producer in the state of Illinois.”

One way Anheuser-Busch has honored the farmers that make products such as Busch Light possible, Anheuser-Busch debuted its Corn Cans in 2020.
