Willis D. Olin, 89, of Galesburg, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at home.

He was born December 19, 1933, in Oneida, the son of Charles N. and Florence (Malmstrom) Olin. He married Sharon L. Blixt on August 16, 1958, in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2005, after over 47 years of marriage.

He is survived by a son, Erick T. (Cindy) Olin of Galesburg; a daughter, Dawn M. (Michael) Price of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Christopher “CJ” Olin of Galesburg, Shania Olin of Galesburg, Cody (Jessica) Price of Rio, and Jessica (Dayton) Huss of Rio; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and five sisters.

Willis worked at Maytag for 48 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. He enjoyed swimming with the “Silver Sneakers” group at the Y and was a member of the OAKS and the Wataga Senior Citizens.

Cremation will be accorded. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Henderson Cemetery with Military Honors. Rev. Karna Peterson will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
