Students at Central Intermediate in the Monmouth-Roseville School District work with Mrs. Frieden on a Student Advisory Team where they brainstorm ideas on getting involved in the community and improvements for the building, explains Superintendent Ed Fletcher:

“They do a lot of cool things with Mrs. Frieden and Mr Fowler. They have weekly meetings and they talk about the school. They talk about things they can do to get involved. It is part of that process of them getting involved in school so they realize when they get older they can do the same thing. The students did some work for the Homecoming parade, they ave talked to Mrs. Frieden about the lunchroom and some ideas to make the lunchroom a little bit more appealing and nice and better during the day; they have talked about some playground and recess improvements. They are doing a Graphic Novel Club coming up shortly. They did a canned food drive. They did a holiday drive and donations will go to the Western Illinois Animal Rescue and they are actually going to have a 6th Grade Winter Wonderland Dance in January.”

25 students are involved with the Student Advisory Team at Central Intermediate.
