Is Your Vehicle Prepared for Winter Driving?

Share

With the winter weather right around the corner, now is the time to prepare your vehicles with an emergency kit, especially before traveling, shares Monmouth Fire Assistant Chief Brian Morefield:

“It is crucial to make sure that a coat, blanket, maybe hat and gloves, are in the vehicle with you, not in the trunk or rear of the SUV because if you get into an accident and you can’t exit the vehicle or access your gear to keep you warm. Obviously we can’t fit everything in the car, but think about if the vehicle is stopped or you are in traffic or whatever the situation is and you can’t get out, what can you grab right now. Think about having a full cellphone battery, your vehicle might not always be running where you can charge your cellphone. Water is crucial to have with you. Also, make sure your exhaust pipe is clear of snow while the vehicle is running.”
