Janet K. Lindo, age 85, of Biggsville, Illinois; passed away at 10:00 am on Monday December 4, 2023 at the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, IL. Janet was born on October 13, 1938 in Monmouth, Illinois and was the daughter of Jack and Irhmal Brewer Gibb. Janet was raised in Biggsville, Illinois where she attended local schools and Bigggsville High School where she graduated with the class of 1956. After graduation Janet completed her training as a nurse at the Methodist School of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois. Janet first was employed by Cincinnati Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati where she worked for three years. She then moved to Galesburg where she became a full time “Mom”and volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Drive. Janet married Doctor Silvino C. Lindo on October 17, 1959 in Biggsville at the Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in his death on February 24, 2017. In 1963 Janet became Doctor Lindo’s Nurse in Biggsville where she worked for many years. She was a pillar member of the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church and served as it’s Treasurer for many years. She also volunteered at the Local Red Cross, for the local school Parent Teachers Association, and many of the Biggsville Lions Club programs. Janet was a founding board member of Hend-co Hills Country Club. Janet was an ” Ultimate Mom ” to her family and to many in the community. She had a quiet sense of humor and was a ” Die Hard ” Chicago Cubs Fan. Surviving her are two daughters, Lori Harms of Peoria, Illinois and Susan Foster and James of Varna, Illinois. There are three sons, Brian Lindo and Cheryl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Michael Lindo of Glen View, Iowa, and Brad Lindo and Mariceil of East Peoria, Illinois. There are ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Janet’s brother Steve Gibb also survives of Biggsville, Illinois. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, and five brothers, and one sister.

A funeral service and interment at the Biggsville Cemetery are planned on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church in Biggsville, Illinois. Her family plans visitation and will receive their friends at the church for the hour prior to the funeral,10:00 to 11:00. Memorial funds have been established for either the Biggsville Ambulance Service or the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of Janet’s care.
