VP of Behavioral Health Services at Bridgeway Stacy Brown Encourages Adding Improving Mental Health to New Years Resolutions

A new year brings new opportunities and, of course, a chance to set goals and ways to better yourself. Vice President of Behavioral Health Services at Bridgeway, Stacy Brown, says while hitting the gym is always a great resolution, don’t forget about improving your mental health:

“Everybody starts with their New Year’s resolutions. They want to better themselves, everybody wants to go back to the gym and do all the right things, eat better, and drink more water, but along with that is mental health too. People should really set goals, all the time, but if you are looking to do that at the beginning of the year and start fresh, how are you going to take better care of yourself? What are you going to do to make yourself feel better, and it may be things like exercising and eating well and drinking water, but maybe it is starting counseling or reaching out and connecting with people and making sure other people are feeling well as well. It is not just about you, it is about everybody.”

Additionally, on Wednesday, January 31st and Tuesday, February 6th both from 6 to 7:30 pm, Mayor Peter Schwartzman will be facilitating community health forums at the Galesburg City Hall to hear directly from members of the community on services they would like to see for behavioral health, mental health, and substance use.
