Winter Storm Warning in Effect

Share

A winter storm warning is in effect from 6 pm Monday to 6 am Wednesday for north-central, northwest, and central Illinois and east-central, northeast, and southeast Iowa. According to the National Weather Service, heavy snow is expected with snow accumulations of 7 to 12 inches with wind gusts as high as 40 mph on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says during this time travel may be difficult with blowing snow reducing visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute on Monday, and the commutes on Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you call from can be obtained by calling 511.
