Edwin L. Glisan, 79, of Abingdon, Illinois, passed away at 8:05 pm Sunday, March 31, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria with his family by his side.

Ed was born January 24, 1945, in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of Elmer C. and C. Ada (Mohr) Glisan. He married Patsy A. Kenney in Abingdon on May 6, 1972. After forty-four years of marriage, she preceded him in death on February 27, 2016.

Ed is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Scott) Felt of Galva, Nancy (Mike) Felt of Prophetstown, Illinois, Deanna (Bill) Stokes of Galesburg, Karla (Steve) McDonald and Sherry (Dustin Welsh) Glisan McWhorter both of Abingdon, his three brothers, Richard (Vicky) Glisan of Galesburg, Charles (Ina) Glisan of Greenbush, Illinois and Wayne (the late Cheryl) Glisan of Galva, Illinois; his sister-in-law, Sandra Glisan of Abingdon; seventeen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patsy, his daughter, Leslie Holeman, a grandson, Jeff Brown, two brothers, Leon and Gary “Vern” Glisan.

Ed worked for the Admiral/Maytag Corporation as a supervisor for over thirty years. He had a love for sports especially playing a round of golf or taking in a Chicago Cubs game. One of his happiest moments was attending the Chicago Cubs division winning game in Chicago in 2015 with his nephew Derrick, brother Wayne and his daughter, Sherry. Ed enjoyed fishing and would often go fishing with his grandchildren. He was an avid supporter of Donald Trump and always had Fox News on the TV.

Visitation is scheduled for 9:00-11:00 am Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Pastor Linda Mowrer will officiate. Services will follow at the chapel at 11:00 am. Ed will be laid to rest next to his wife, Patsy, at the Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
