Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 31, 2024:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is freshman girls soccer player, Anastasia Hinderliter. The Titans have gotten off to a (5-1-1) start to the season and one of the main reasons has been the defense. In their five victories, Monmouth-Roseville did not allow a single goal. Anastasia has been in goal for all five of those shutouts. She has only allowed three goals all season.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior softball player, Amber Brunswig. Amber was a one-woman wrecking crew in a non-conference win over Monmouth-Roseville. At the plate, she went 2-4 with a home run. Amber was just as effective in the pitching circle, going all 7 innings, scattering four hits, while giving up no earned runs and striking out four batters.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior baseball player, Hayden Eisnnicher. Hayden almost singlehandedly defeated Mendon Unity in a non-conference match up. He went 2-3 with 2 rbis at the plate. Hayden did all he could on the pitching mound, as well, going seven innings, giving up only 2 earned runs on seven hits and striking out 4 batters.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls soccer player, Madalyn Lardi. Madalyn found the back of the net at will in a non-conference victory over Peoria Manual. She slammed home five goals in the 10-0 win. For the season, Madalyn has garnered 15 total goals, which is tops on the team.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior softball player, Taylor Ford. Wow, what a game for Taylor in a dominating win over Macomb. She blasted not one, not two, but three home runs in the game. For the day, Taylor went 4-5, with all four hits going for extra bases and driving in six runs.
