The largest Catholic hospital chain in the U.S. says it was hit by a cyberattack last week.
Ascension Health announced it detected “unusual activity” on some of their network systems which they’re investigating. Ascension says it is still trying to figure out “what information, if any, may have been affected by the situation.” The news comes just a few months after a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group was also hit by a major cyberattack. That breach impacted roughly 30-percent of the U.S. and the CEO of UnitedHealth Group confirmed they payed a 22-million-dollar ransom to try to protect patient information.
