Lana Stewart, Fourth Grade Teacher at Central Intermediate in the Monmouth-Roseville School District, was recognized at the Regional Office of Education #33 Excellence in Education Awards Banquet as the Teacher of the Year, shares Superintendent Ed Fletcher:

“They are nominated by their buildings and different people in the district. The ROE decides and you don’t know who is going to win. It was really cool. In her case 33 years in the district, started off as an aid and then got a teaching job, that is how it used to be.”

Stewart is retiring at the end of this school year, following 33 years in education.
