Community Connection for Seniors Available Locally

Share

Social interaction is very important to one’s health, especially as you get older. Locally, Strom Center has volunteer through their Social Isolation Program that conduct weekly calls that keep individuals engaged in the community and help to prevent feelings of loneliness, shares Executive Director Carol McCrery:

“The benefit is that we have a volunteer caller. They will call a person who would like to have a call once a day, up to three times a week. They can visit about anything or if they want to just check in with some people. We have some people that just want to have human contact verbally, just so that they can check in and make sure everything is okay.”

This program is available to individuals 60 years and older.
