The Summer Reading Program: Read, Renew, Repeat, is underway at the Warren County Public Library. A variety of events are on tap this week with story times, a bald eagle dancer, a magician, and a showing of The Lorax on Friday afternoon. An exciting addition to this year’s program, is a weekly Kid Librarian, explains Youth Librarian Mindy Newberry:
“We have had some amazing top readers and as an incentive for reading, we have been drawing names for our top readers each week. I believe last week you introduced our first top reader. Our second reader of the week, who gets to be Kid Librarian, come in and spend some time with us, is Rylan Schroeder. Last week we had Kenna and Kenna got to learn all the ins and outs. So, Rylan will get to pick out his favorite books, put them on display, we take a picture, and he gets to post that on Facebook because that is what Kenna did. Then they get to do the different duties of what we do at the library.”
Next Friday, June 28th, to round out the Percy Jackson theme for the month will be a showing of the movie, followed by Percy Jackson themed activities in the library.
