Every three years, Eagle View Community Health System conducts a Service Area Needs Assessment within the five counties they serve to gather data for strategic planning. Grant Manager Jennifer Lehman informs the data found helped to reaffirm the areas of concern that need to remain a main focus:
“We learned a lot about prevalent chronic health conditions. We did a community health survey so that people could actually contribute their own voice to what we are seeing as our medical needs, dental needs, and behavioral health needs in our community. When we did the community health needs survey, the top health concerns were not real surprising, but just reaffirming of what we need to be doing. A lot of people said that if they didn’t get medical care in the past year it was due to long wait times, same with dental care and same with mental health. We really take those concerns into consideration when we are planning our strategic plan for the coming year. We want to make healthcare as accessible for everybody as we can. Among the five counties, I have to say, that the top concern for health issues in mental health.”
Eagle View Community Health System serves individuals in Henderson, McDonough, Warren, Mercer, and Des Moines Counties.
