The Illinois team based out of Beardstown keeps rolling along in the Little League Senior Softball World Series in Roxana, Delaware. Illinois defeated the Europe/Africa contingent 8-1 on Thursday to finish pool play with a (4-0) record. The win gives them one of the top-two seeds heading into the final, 8-team single elimination championship bracket starting today.

Illinois, the defending world champs, outscored their opponents 49-5 in their four games in the regional tournament last week and outscored their pool play opponents 35-5 this week for a total of 84-10 in 8 postseason games so far.

A pair of local players are a part of the Illinois squad, as seniors-to-be Addie Seitz from West Central and Kylie Robinson from Macomb have been a big part of the team’s success.

Illinois will now play a team representing the Eastern part of the US, based out of Delaware. That will be the 3rd quarterfinal game of the day and will start at 4:30. The semifinals are tomorrow, with the first one at 4:30, followed immediately by the second semifinal at 7:00. The World Series Championship Game is set for 6:00 on Sunday.

All world series games are carried on ESPN+.
