No matter what stage in life you are in, life keeps living. That is the message that Sarah Jo Kane and the team at the Henderson County Retirement Center stress while at community engagement events such as the Veterans and Senior Fair in Macomb. Kane says that each month, the Henderson County Retirement Center holds an event to help engage both residents and the community.

“We’re going to have an event in October, a drive-in movie with hot apple cider and cocoa for the entire community. November, we’re going to do an oak tree planning to honor our environment and make sure that our trees grow just strong as our as our humans do, and in December, we’re doing a senior fall dance,” says Kane. “ So we’re trying extremely hard to make sure that life keeps living in every stage of life.”

By hosting or taking part in community events, Kane says they can educate the community on available resources for any needed care.
