DuWayne “Duke” Eugene McIntyre, 79, of Roseville, Illinois, left this earth on Sunday, September 8, 2024 to begin his new life in the presence of Jesus. He was born February 27, 1945, in Monmouth, Illinois, the youngest of 12 children born to Russell H. and Marie Elizabeth (Cook) McIntyre.

Duke married Beverly Nevius on Sunday, August 8, 1965 in Monmouth. They have one daughter, Tami McIntyre Cox and a very special son-in-law, Troy Cox; 3 grandchildren, Troy Tyler Cox, Joshua Tanner Cox and Tressine Taite Cox. He is also survived by brothers, Donald I. McIntyre, and Dean R. McIntyre; sisters, B. Kay McIntyre and R. Ilene McIntyre Hummel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles W. McIntyre, Floyd C. McIntyre, R. Ted McIntyre and David E. McIntyre; sisters, Dorothy L. McIntyre Young, Helen L. McIntyre Cooper and Ruth M. McIntyre Machu.

Duke led an adventurous life. He drove in the demolition derby and enjoyed water skiing, racing motorcycles, playing pinochle, and snow-mobile riding. He was also an avid train collector. His greatest adventure was following Jesus and serving the Lord. He loved spending time with his family and friends and having family gatherings at the “McIntyre Motel.”

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Roseville Christian Church. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roseville Christian Church and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
