Phase 2 of West Harlem Avenue Project Approved by Monmouth City Council

Phase 2 of the West Harlem Avenue project has been approved by the Monmouth City Council, shares Mayor Rod Davies:

“The water main from G Street to the bypass, which is Phase 2 of our West Harlem underground services, water main replacement; Advanced Plumbing was the lowest responsible bidder at a total bid price of $488,000. We will be funding that project with the grant we received from Senator Durbin.”

Phase 3 of West Harlem Avenue, which is the road resurface from Main Street to the bypass, is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2025.

Incumbent Galesburg Mayor Peter Schwartzman defeated challenger and a former mayor of Galesburg John Pritchard in Tuesday’s consolidated election. In a close race, Schwartzman received over 53 percent of the
