The Macomb Fire Department is thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with Macomb Domino’s and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to promote fire safety during Fire Prevention Week, scheduled from October 6 to 12. On Monday, October 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., customers ordering from Domino’s at 123 W. Calhoun may receive their pizza delivery via fire engine!
In a special twist, customers with working smoke alarms will have their orders delivered for free! If firefighters discover non-functional smoke alarms, they will replace them or install new batteries, ensuring homes are equipped with the essential safety devices.
“Fire safety is extremely important,” said Jeff Mabrey, franchise owner of Macomb Domino’s. “We’re very excited to partner with NFPA and the fire department for a program that not only promotes the safety of our friends and neighbors but also rewards those who make fire safety a priority.”
This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Smoke Alarms: Make Them WORK for You!” Fire safety experts emphasize that having a working smoke alarm can be the difference between life and death. According to Chief Dan Meyer of the Macomb Fire Department, “In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of that critical time.”
The Macomb Fire Department encourages all residents to check their smoke alarms and ensure they are functioning properly. The partnership with Domino’s aims not only to deliver delicious pizza but also to foster a culture of fire safety within the community.
