Keeping your home warm in the winter can be challenging. Brian Bretsch, Public and Media Relations Manager with Ameren Illinois, offers energy saving tips to help lower costs during the cold weather:

“Wherever the sun is coming in, make sure you open up your blinds, open up your shades, let that sun come in because it really does make a difference in terms of warming up the room. So, while the sun is out, go ahead and open those, but at the same time, when the sun goes down, go ahead and close all of those blinds to keep the warm air in. Another easy thing to do is make sure you go around your house and look to see that all of your vents are free and clear of any drapes or furniture. Then the last thing that I can tell you that is fairly easy, find a temperature in the house that you are all comfortable with.”
