Arrests Made Related to Oquawka Burglary

On February 5, 2025, at approximately 2:56a.m. Hancock/Henderson 911 received a call of a burglary in progress at DC’s Bar/Tavern in Oquawka, IL. The complainant advised 3 unknown persons had broken in to the bar, stole items, and left in a white SUV.

A Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol was able to locate the suspect vehicle and perform a stop on it with the assistance of Des Moines County, IA Sheriff’s Deputies. 3 suspects were taken into custody from the stop.

A subsequent search of the vehicle located stolen items from the tavern.

DAYTON M. MURRAY (age 19) of Burlington, IA, along with a female juvenile from Carman, IL and a female juvenile from Oquawka, IL have all been arrested and charged with Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, Theft, and Possession of Alcohol by a Minor. Other charges may be pending the investigation.

Under Illinois’ no cash bail law, all arrested persons were released from custody with Notices to Appear in court.

The Oquawka Police Department was called in to assist with the burglary.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
