Fred Hook, age 89, of Cameron, Illinois; passed away at 4:37 pm on
Saturday April 5, 2025 at his home in rural Cameron. Fred was born on
June 6, 1935 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Charles and Ella
Welch Hook. He was raised in Alexis, Illinois where he attended local
schools and Alexis High School. After his schooling Fred entered the
United States Army where he served in Germany during the Korean War.
Fred was previously married to Sue Agans, and for thirty years to Billie
Klick. He currently is married to Jennifer Lee Stroops on August 20,
2016 at the Cameron Christian Church. She is surviving him. Fred has
been a truck driver his entire career for various companies in the area.
He first drove for Victoria Feed Company and then drove for Hirschback
Trucking in Monmouth, and lastly he drove for Jansen farming in
Roseville until his retirement. Fred loved being with family and his
dogs. He enjoyed fishing, camping, taking gator rides, and mushroom
hunting. He was always working on his farm and helping other farmers. He
is survived by his wife, Jennifer Hook of Cameron, Illinois, two sons
Rick Hook and Dawn of Chillicothe, Illinois and Chuck Hook and Julie of
Galesburg, Illinois. His step daughters survive Hannah Star and Will of
Bloomington, Illinois and Brianna Arthur and Zachary of Abingdon,
Illinois. There are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and
step grandchildren. He is preceded in his death by his parents. At
present, no service or visitation is being planned by his family as they
will plan a Celebration of his life at a later date. To leave a
