Mr. Keith L. Nelson, 95, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 9:16 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at OSF Richard L. Owen Hospice Home, Peoria, Illinois.

He was born on September 9, 1929, in Galesburg to Henry and Ellen (Anderson) Nelson.  He married Joan P. Heflin on December 12, 1953, in Victoria, Illinois.  She preceded him in death on June 18, 2019.

Surviving are three daughters, Dana Bradshaw of Peoria, Pamela (and Randy) Allen of Galesburg, and Julie (and Matthew) Bradley of Peoria, and three granddaughters.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 65 years, Joan Nelson, a daughter, Karen Fuessel, two brothers, Harold Nelson and Howard Nelson, two sisters, Lois Russell and Marjorie Shetler, and a son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Bradshaw. 

Keith graduated from Galesburg High School in 1947.  He attended the University of Illinois and Western Illinois University.  He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953.  He was a Supply Sergeant stationed in Japan during the Korean War.  Keith was the Area Manager for Coca Cola Enterprises for 42 years and retired in 1992.  He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Galesburg where he served on the Church Council and did committee work at the church.  He was also a member of the Galesburg Jaycees Club, Lion’s Club, and the American Legion Post #285.  Keith was a sports enthusiast who loved watching sporting events, especially the Chicago Cubs. 

As Keith requested, cremation will be accorded.  A private graveside service will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com
