David L. Steines

David L. Steines, 66, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 4:45 p.m. July 6, 2025 in his home. He was born June 22, 1959 in California, the son of Arthur Loren and Mary L. (Norpel) Steines. He was raised and educated in Davenport, Iowa, graduating in 1977.

He served in the United States Air Force following his high school graduation. He was stationed in Pensacola, Florida and enjoyed his time there.

Surviving family includes; sons, Tanner (Nicky) Steines of Roseville, Illinois, Blake Steines of Aledo, Illinois; grandchildren, Randy Steines of Monmouth, Sophina Steines, Parker Steines and Havoc Steines of Roseville; siblings, Sheri (James) Hanson of Little York, Illinois, Rick Steines of Lyles, Tennessee and Mike (Marsha) Steines of Galesburg, Illinois, Steve (Andrea) Steines of Alpha, Illinois, Janet (Joe) Stewart of Alpha, Sharon Hunt Steines of Galesburg, Illinois, Judy Mundy of Silvis, Illinois. Several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dave drove a semi for Roger Brothers trucking for 16 years. He then worked for General Grind & Machine in Aledo for 12 years. He also worked for Farm King in Monmouth for a few years. Most recently he was employed by O’Reilly Auto Parts in Monmouth.

Dave enjoyed shooting guns, fishing, working on cars and his dog, Coco. He also loved boating on Lake Warren any chance he got. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a Celebration of David’s life to be held at a later date. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements. For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit our website at www.moorememorial.com.
