Lorie A. Engle, 61, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on July 5, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. 

She was born on June 15, 1964 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Jasper and Janet (Morss) Engle.  Lorie was raised and educated in Galesburg. 

Lorie dedicated several years to working at St. Mary’s Square in Galesburg, where she was a valued member of the laundry department team. Known for her creativity and gentle spirit, Lorie found great joy in making a wide variety of crafts and art projects, often sharing her talents with those around her.

She had a special fondness for collecting gnomes and butterflies.  Lorie enjoyed going boating at the river, and riding her electric bike.  Above all, Lorie deeply cherished her two beloved cats, Friskey Anne and Ellie Mae, who brought her constant companionship and comfort.

Surviving Lorie is her significant other and best friend, Randy Ray of Monmouth, IL; her siblings, Pam Miller of Missouri, Patricia Engle of Little York, IL, Jasper (Missy) Engle of Monmouth, IL, Tammy Miller of Monmouth, IL, Rhonda (Bert) Pagel of Keokuk, IA, Darrin (Tammy) Engle of Monmouth, IL, Amy Skees of Oneida, IL, Dawn Skees of Monmouth, IL.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A private family graveside service will be at Monmouth Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the Lorie Engle Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
