Patricia Ann “Pat” Selby, 74, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

Pat was born December 4, 1950, in Hopkinsville, KY, the daughter of Durwood Jackson and Virginia Hyacinth (Gilkey) Burgess.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1969.

She married Lowell Ray Selby in Monmouth on July 10, 1969, and he passed away on November 5, 2006.

Pat retired form OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth after 27 years in Housekeeping.  She later worked at the Jamieson Center for 2 years in the kitchen preparing the Meals on Wheels meals.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Monmouth.  She loved crafting, sewing, puzzles and her dog.

Survivors include her children, Pamela (Victor) Vasquez of Galesburg, IL, Karen (Brent) Blackman and Miranda (Shawn) Petty both of Monmouth; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Diane (Don Rice) Nesbitt of Oquawka, IL, Donna (Steve) Toops of Little York, IL, Tena Burgess of Monmouth, Ronda Burgess of Galesburg and Stacey Burgess of Monmouth; her brother, Tracey Burgess of Charlotte, NC; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Brenda J. Oaks and brother, Michael Glenn Burgess; her in-laws, Raymond and Adeline Selby; brother-in-law, Richard Selby.

Memorial services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. A private family interment at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth will take place at a later date.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday, August 4, 2025, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the Freedom Ride Rescue and sent to the funeral home. For more information or to leave an online condolence visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
